Hey! My name is Callum and I’m a rock mentor for the bumblefoot rock project. I’ve currently been drumming for almost 8 and a half years. I am currently the drummer for the band, “The Reaper”. I was one of the first pupils AT Witchwood SCHOOL OF ROCK (back in the day), with me and my previous band “Uno”. We lasted for 2 and a half years, but this allowed me to join a more experienced band which would allow me to become a great drummer in “The Reaper". I’m a weird and crazy guy, and always want to have fun no matter what the circumstance is (but always wanting good quality to come out at the end of it). Overall I think I’m an easy guy to talk to, so any questions about drums and being in a band, just pop over and talk to me and we can have a chat!
Mike'S role IS very much centred around promotion & development foR the bumblefoot rock project. In additon to this he also worKS on developing relationships with record labels and artists. IN 2009 MIKE JOINED THE WITCHWOOD SCHOOL OF ROCK TEAM AND IN 2010 ORGANISED A MASTERCLASS WITH Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal and Frank Ferrer of rock legends Guns N’ Roses. In 2012 80’s icon Tony Hadley of Spandau Ballet came to THE ROCK SCHOOL for some Q&A and to sing with students. In 2013 MIKE ORGANISED rock legend Duff McKagan of Guns N'Roses, Loaded, Velvet Revolver, Kings of Chaos & Walking Papers to carry out a masterclass, Q&A AND jam with all the students. He also brought the rest of WALKING Papers who played a small set in front of the students. It was a day not to be forgotton. Early in 2015 Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal came back to carry out a 2nd masterclass with the class of 2015. It was an equally amazing day for all who were lucky enough to be there. Mike is passionate about being part of THE BUMBLEFOOT ROCK PROJECT development and growth. He loves to see the young musicians enhance their talent and confidence. He’s sees it as a two way thing. A lot of children will grow into great young musicians through tAKING PART IN THE PROJECT AND THEY WILL also build their confidence and understand the importance of teamwork whilst working together IN a band. Mike has an immense passion for music and although he has a wide and varied taste he is a big fan of The Beatles, Guns N Roses, Queen, The Foo Fighters, Rage Against the Machine & The Prodigy.
I'M AN ENTHUSIASTIC MUSICIAN AND SHARE A LOVE FOR LISTENING AND CREATING MUSIC. I'VE BEEN PLAYING GUITAR FOR OVER 8 YEARS AND HAVE COMPLETED GRADES 1-8 IN ELECTRIC GUITAR ALL WITH DISTINCTIONS. I'M A GUITARIST AND VOCALIST IN THE BAND 'THE REAPER' AND HAVE BEEN WRITING MUSIC FOR 6 YEARS. BEING RAISED TO ROCK BY WITCHWOOD SCHOOL OF ROCK FROM A YOUNG AGE, I AM NOW A PROUD MEMBER OF THE BUMBLEFOOT ROCK PROJECT TEAM AND HAPPY TO BE PASSING THE BATON ONTO THE YOUNGER GENERATION.
HI I’M JOE AND I’VE BEEN PLAYING BASS FOR THE PAST 6 YEARS. OF THOSE 6 YEARS I HAVE BEEN PLAYING WITH MY BAND THE REAPER FOR 5 YEARS. AFTER STARTING MY MUSICAL CAREER WITH witchwood school of rock AT AGE 11 PLAYING GUITAR, I STARTED PLAYING BASS AND SOON FOUND AN AFFINITY WITH IT. AFTER A YEAR SPENT WITH DIFFERENT BANDS I JOINED THE REAPER AND THE REST, AS THEY SAY, IS HISTORY! FOR ME WORKING AT the ROCK PROJECT IS A KIND OF REPAYMENT FOR THE GREAT TIMES AND TEACHING I HAVE RECEIVED OVER THE YEARS AND HOPEFULLY I CAN INSPIRE THE NEXT GENERATION OF MUSICIANS. MY FAVOURITE BANDS AT THE MOMENT ARE - ALTER BRIDGE, THE DEAR HUNTER, DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE, BLACK SABBATH, DON BROCO, WITHIN TEMPTATION AND FIDLAR.
My Dad played guitar, so I have been listening to rock music and playing guitar ever since I was little. The first guitar I ever owned was a red Squier strat! I joined Rockschool at 8 years old and was soon put into the band Brainstorm with my best friend Joey Kenny which later became my band now The Reaper! My roots are in hard rock with bands such as AC/DC and Black Stone Cherry but my music taste stretches all the way from house music, to rock, to deathcore. I've played lots of gigs with my band and have recorded many EP's. I love being a rock mentor at BRP and love teaching people how to rock!
Paul Spink was a professional musician almost from the moment he left school. After switching from trombone in brass bands and orchestras at the age of 13, to guitar after seeing a KISS movie at the cinema, playing rock n roll was always going to be a major part in his life. In his late teens he taught guitar in his hometown of Kingston upon Hull at college and privately, with up to 50 pupils per week. Then went on tour with cabaret bands performing all over Europe. Eventually working his way into bigger bands and session work with chart topping acts. This took Paul all over the world.Ultimately, with a young family around, he decided to hang up his flight cases and settle for a regular job in Oxfordshire. But the call of the music business was too strong and in 2008 he bought the music venue FAT LIL'S in Witney and used his experience and contacts to fill the venue with great live music for the people of Witney and surrounding areas to enjoy. And also gets to play there sometimes too.
